New Sarah Blasko album gets ****1/2 star review in The West Australian
The accolades continue to roll in for Sarah Blasko’s latest album, "As Day Follows Night", with another 4 1/2 star review in today’s West Australian Newspaper (in The Wire liftout).
The West’s Music Editor Simon Collins praised Blasko’s powerful pop songwriting and ethereal voice, with quotes like:
"Another stunning album from Blasko,"
and
"As Day Follows Night is a pop album in the same sense that Nina Simone or Kate Bush albums are pop - great music, evocative lyrics and, most of all, a stunning vocal performance. Here, Blasko has cultivated a most beautiful speciman."
The review comes on the back of reviews from Rolling Stone and Jmag offering similar praise:
"Sarah‘s music has always had an ethereal quality, and together with Bjorn she has made what will be one of the most interesting and beautiful Australian albums of 2009." ****1/2 JMag, July 2009.
"The listener has been invited in to enjoy Blasko‘s brilliance, not just forced to admire it from a distance." **** Rolling Stone, July 2009
